Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron has warned that talk about closing the border with England is a distraction in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Cameron, the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance said: “There should be no loose talk about possible border closures. We need the four-nation UK approach to continue without any distractions."
“The virus is no respecter of boundaries and a coordinated response, which takes into account the views of all the devolved administrations, is the best way forward."
“The Prime Minister, in his speech today, pointed the way forward for the UK and we should get behind him. We must not allow ourselves to think that we can relax and return to politics as usual.”
