Shadow Health Secretary Donald Cameron has praised NHS staff working across the Highlands and Islands for their work delivering the Covid-19 vaccine roll out.
Mr Cameron, a Highlands and Islands MSP, said “We owe an enormous debt of thanks to all the NHS staff and those others who are supporting the roll-out effort for getting vaccine jabs into the arms of those most at risk.
“According to the latest figures, 39,260 doses have been administered across the Highlands and Islands, so we are currently running ahead of the Scottish average. However we badly need to see the process accelerate still further as I remain very concerned that the overall Scottish roll-out is too slow."
“And that is why I am urging the Scottish Government to convene a Vaccination Task Force to address the factors which are causing delays in Scotland."
“I still find it quite extraordinary that the SNP have managed to find the time to set up an Independence Task Force at a time like this.”
