Scottish Conservative health spokesperson, Donald Cameron has described the UK’s success in vaccinating over 30 million (and rising) of its citizens as a resounding success and praised NHS staff, GP practices and volunteers for their role in delivering the vaccination programme across Argyll and Bute.
The Highlands and Islands MSP said:
“Faced with the greatest national challenge since WW2, it is inspirational how the our health workers have responded and delivered such an extraordinary outcome."
“Few people predicted that we could achieved these numbers in such a short period of time and that we are continuing to roll forward with continued momentum. It has been a resounding success in Scotland and the wider UK."
“Although the UK Government Task Force secured the vaccines, that success would have counted for little, if it was not for the extraordinary hard work and commitment of the teams here in Argyll and Bute, and across the country, who have delivered the vaccines to people in our communities."
“Our thanks go to the NHS staff, the GP practices, the volunteers, and everyone else who have all stepped up to the plate."
“Due to your efforts we can look forward to an earlier release from the lockdown, and the longed-for reunion with family and friends.”
